Hugo van Wadenoyen was a Dutch born British photographer from between 1910 to 1959. He studied at Cardiff School of Art before joining his father's 'Rembrandt Studio' in Cardiff in 1910. He continued working with his father until 1925 when he left Cardiff to join the large photographic empire of H.J.Whitlock, initially in Wolverhampton, then Birmingham and finally in London. In 1932 he left Whitlock's to open his own studio in Cheltenham. He remained in the town until his death in 1959.

Hugo on Photography

Hugo van Wadenoyen also wrote books; numerous photographic instruction manuals and guides for the Focal Press, a publisher owned and ran by his freind Andor Kraszna Krausz.  He wrote many articles that were published in the photographic press, here is a selection of the most interesting.
